Homogenization based topology optimization of fluid-pressure loaded structures using the Biot–Darcy Model

Homogenization method is applied to topology optimization of a weakly coupled two physics problem, where structures are made periodically perforated material. The microscopic periodic cell macroscopically modulated, the design characterized by material density and its homogenized Hooke’s law at each point domain. coupling weak because involved solved consecutively: first, fluid determined using Biot–Darcy’s second, fluid-structure problem solving linear poro-elasticity system; our aim optimize formulation this two-physic problem. This approach permits computationally low cost evaluation load sensitivities adjoint-state method. Numerical two-dimensional test cases presented alternate directions algorithm. It demonstrated how implementation can address variety problems.
